Thermal Camera Design

Designed as a proof-of-concept, this handheld thermal camera includes a trigger, LCD screen, and thermal imaging sensor. The soft outer housing was chosen to improve grip and withstand harsh conditions.

Outdoor Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) Camera Design

This PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) outdoor security camera was designed to meet IP66 standards and operate reliably in extreme temperatures from -35°C to +50°C.

Challenges:
Key challenges included preventing water ingress, avoiding lens fogging, and ensuring easy outdoor installation.

Approach:
-Created a fully sealed enclosure using waterproof gaskets and sealed connectors
-Integrated a pressure-equalizing vent -membrane that blocks water while allowing air exchange to prevent condensation
-Added a fan that moves with the camera head to actively defog the viewing area
-Designed all interfaces for simple, weatherproof field installation
